1 Scope of EN 1999(1)P EN 1999 applies to the design of buildings and civil engineering and structural works in aluminium. Itcomplies with the principles and requirements for the safety and serviceability of structures, the basis of theirdesign and verification that are given in EN 1990 – Basis of structural design.(2) EN 1999 is only concerned with requirements for resistance, serviceability, durability and fire resistanceof aluminium structures. Other requirements, e.g. concerning thermal or sound insulation, are not considered.(3) EN 1999 is intended to be used in conjunction with:– EN 1990 “Basis of structural design”– EN 1991 “Actions on structures”– European Standards construction products relevant for aluminium structures– EN 1090-1: Execution of steel structures and aluminium structures – Part 1: Requirements for conformityassessment of structural components5– EN 1090-3: Execution of steel structures and aluminium structures – Part 3: Technical requirements foraluminium structures5(4) EN 1999 is subdivided in five parts:EN 1999-1-1 Design of Aluminium Structures: General structural rules.EN 1999-1-2 Design of Aluminium Structures: Structural fire design.EN 1999-1-3 Design of Aluminium Structures: Structures susceptible to fatigue.EN 1999-1-4 Design of Aluminium Structures: Cold-formed structural sheeting.EN 1999-1-5 Design of Aluminium Structures: Shell structures.2 Scope of EN 1999-1-4(1)P EN 1999-1-4 gives design requirements for cold-formed trapezoidal aluminium sheeting. It applies tocold-formed aluminium products made from hot rolled or cold rolled sheet or strip that have been cold-formedby such processes as cold-rolled forming or press-breaking. The execution of aluminium structures made ofcold-formed sheeting is covered in EN 1090-3.NOTE The rules in this part complement the rules in other parts of EN 1999-1.(2) Methods are also given for stressed-skin design using aluminium sheeting as a structural diaphragm.(3) This part does not apply to cold-formed aluminium profiles like C-, Z- etc profiles nor cold-formed andwelded circular or rectangular hollow sections.(4) EN 1999-1-4 gives methods for design by calculation and for design assisted by testing. The methods forthe design by calculation apply only within stated ranges of material properties and geometrical properties forwhich sufficient experience and test evidence is available. These limitations do not apply to design by testing.(5) EN 1999-1-4 does not cover load arrangement for loads during execution and maintenance.

Ces structures sont exposées à des environnements de catégorie de corrosivité CX (offshore) et de catégorie d'immersion Im4 telles que définies dans l'ISO 12944-2.La présente partie de l'ISO 12944décrit des systèmes de peinture pour une haute durabilité conformément à l'ISO 12944-1.Le présent document traite des structures en acier au carbone et ne traite pas des surfaces de type Cd/Bi Cr et Zn/Bi Cr. This International Standard deals with performance requirements for protective paint systems for offshore and related structures (i.e. those exposed to the marine atmosphere, as well as those immersed in sea or brackish water). Such structures are exposed to environments of corrosivity category CX (offshore) and immersion category Im4 as defined in ISO 12944-2, with special stresses as given in 4.3 and Annex B of ISO 12944-2:1998. ISO 12944-9 can also be used for other structures, provided that the paints or protective paint systems selected comply with this International Standard.This International Standard places emphasis on high-durability paint systems, with the aim of minimizing maintenance and hence reducing safety considerations and environmental impact.The temperature range applicable for these paint systems is considered to be between -20 °C and +120 °C, and the performance testing is aimed at verifying suitability of the paint systems for this temperature range. The use of paint systems outside this temperature range shall be subject to agreement by the end user. Such agreement may include testing at the applicable temperatures.The paint systems for submerged service (Im4) are aimed at ambient operating temperatures up to a maximum of 50 °C. For higher operating temperatures, specific evaluation and performance documentation is needed. The selection of performance requirements should be considered in conjunction with the cathodic protection design parameters.

This International Standard specifies procedures for detecting the presence of porosity (discontinuity) in a protective paint system of any film thickness on a steel or other metallic substrate. The procedures given in this document are based on test methods for two different types of test equipment according to the dry film thickness. These procedures are only applicable for testing electrically non-conductive parts of a paint system.

This European Standard specifies the requirements for the corrosion resistance of building hardwarefor doors, windows, shutters and curtain walling.This European Standard provides a method of classification of corrosion resistance of buildinghardware based on performance in a neutral salt spray test (EN ISO 9227).This European Standard specifies requirements for both coated and uncoated surfaces and five grades of corrosion resistance being laid down in accordance with the different conditions of use grades 1 to 5. A grade 0 is also included for which no requirements have been specified.Requirements for levels of corrosion resistance which are higher than those laid down for grade 5 have not been included in this European Standard and are subject to agreement where required.This European Standard also applies to the metal fasteners required for fixing building hardware if specified.Screws and fastenings which are sold with a hardware product which conforms to this European Standard should also conform to this European Standard.NOTE 1 The term \"grade\" used in this European Standard corresponds to the term \"class\" which is used in ISO standards.NOTE 2 There is seldom a direct relationship between resistance to the action of salt spray and resistance to corrosion in other media, because several factors influencing the progress of corrosion, such as the formation of protective films, vary greatly with the conditions encountered. Therefore, the test results should not be regarded as a direct guide to the corrosion resistance of the tested materials in all environments where these materials may be used. Also, the performance of different materials during the test should not be taken as a direct guide to the corrosion resistance of these materials in service.The method described in this European Standard gives a means of checking that the comparative quality of a material, with or without corrosion protection, is maintained.In addition, for quality control purposes, comparison can be made between specimens coated with the same coating. As comparative tests, however, salt spray tests are only suitable if the coatings aresufficiently similar in nature.It is often not possible to use results gained from salt spray testing as a comparative guide to the long-term behaviour of different coating systems as the corrosion stress during these tests differs significantly from the corrosion stresses encountered in practice.

(1) EN 1993-2 provides a general basis for the structural design of steel bridges and steel parts ofcomposite bridges. It gives provisions that supplement, modify or supersede the equivalent provisions givenin the various parts of EN 1993-1.(2) The design criteria for composite bridges are covered in EN 1994-2.(3) The design of high strength cables and related parts are included in EN 1993-1-11.(4) This European Standard is concerned only with the resistance, serviceability and durability of bridgestructures. Other aspects of design are not considered.(5) For the execution of steel bridge structures, EN 1090 should be taken into account.NOTE: As long as EN 1090 is not yet available a provisional guidance is given in Annex C.(6) Execution is covered to the extent that is necessary to indicate the quality of the construction materialsand products that should be used and the standard of workmanship needed to comply with the assumptions ofthe design rules.(7) Special requirements of seismic design are not covered. Reference should be made to the requirementsgiven in EN 1998, which complements and modifies the rules of EN 1993-2 specifically for this purpose.

These industrial apparatusinclude, for example, reaction tanks, storage tanks, floors in industrial plants, in general for production and handlingof chemicals.The protection is applicable to metallic and concrete structures.Beside the protection of the apparatus, the protection of the media itself against pollution is also considered in thisseries of European Standards EN 14879.A protection against corrosion caused by atmospheric exposure (as for example according to EN ISO 12944-4) isnot included in the scope of this series of European Standards EN 14879.Corrosion protection systems according to this series of European Standards EN 14879 are:1) Thick coatings normally of 1 mm or more thick.2) Linings made of pre-fabricated sheets respectively plate materials.3) Combined linings with tile and brick layers.

Questa procedura è applicabile alla verifica dei soli sistemi di verniciatura non conduttivi.
