　　GB/T 1845的本部分規定了聚乙烯(PE)熱塑性塑料材料的命名系統，該系統可作為分類基礎。 不同類型的聚乙烯熱塑性塑料材料用下列指定的特征性能的值以及推薦用途和(或)加工方法、重要性能、添加劑、著色劑、填料和增強材料等為基礎的一種分類系統加以區分： a) 密度; b) 熔體質量流動速率。 本部分適用于聚乙烯均聚物以及其他1-烯烴單體質量分數小于50%和帶官能團的非烯烴單體質量分數不多于3%的共聚物。 本部分適用于常規為粉狀、顆粒或碎粒狀，未改性或經著色劑、添加劑、填料等改性的材料。 本部分不適用于母料和EPM橡膠。本部分也不適用于超高分子量聚乙烯(PE-UHMW)。超高分子量聚乙烯的命名和分類參見GB/T 21461.1-2008。 本部分不意味著命名相同的材料必定具有相同的性能。本部分不提供用于說明材料特殊用途和(或)加工方法所需的工程數據、性能數據或加工條件數據。 如果需要，可按GB/T 1845的第2部分中規定的試驗方法確定這些附加性能。 為了說明某種聚乙烯熱塑性塑料材料的特殊用途或為了確保加工的重現性，可以在字符組5中給出附加要求。
